Mitsubishi FX PLC Ethernet Communication

BCNet-FX supports Mitsubishi programming software GX Works2 for program uploading and monitoring of the full range of FX PLCs via Ethernet, and with the remote module, program maintenance and data acquisition of remote devices can be conveniently realized.

Mode 1: For FX3G/3GC, FX3S, FX3U/3UC

This method is applicable to FX3G/3GC, FX3S, FX3U/FX3UC, which are 3 series FX. This time, we implement GX Works2 Ethernet connection to FX3UC through BCet-FX as an example, and explain the steps to use.

1) Create a new FX3U/FX3UC project, double click the connection target: Connection in the navigation bar.

2) After the options panel pops up, select the “EthernetBoard” option on the computer side, then click “Yes” in the reminder; double-click “PLC Module” on the programmable controller side.

3) In the subsequent settings, click “Search for FXCPU(S) on the network” and the FX3UC connected to the BCNet-FX will be searched.

4) After selecting the IP address above, click “Communication Test” to indicate successful connection with FX3UCCPU.

5) Then you can read, write and monitor PLC operations in the “Online” option.

Method 2: For FX1N/1NC, FX2N/2NC, FX1S

This method is applicable to the whole series of FXCPU, and this method is chosen mainly for FXPLC of FX1N, FX2N and FX1S series. This time, the GX Works2 Ethernet connection to FX2NC through BCet-FX is used as an example to illustrate the steps.

1) Create a new FX2N/FX2NC project and double click on the connection target: Connection in the navigation bar.

2) After the options panel pops up, select the “EthernetBoard” option on the computer side, then click “Yes” in the reminder; double-click “GOT” on the programmable controller side.

3) In the subsequent pop-up settings, enter the IP address of BCNet-FX in the IP address and the port number of BCNet-FX in the port number. Select them in order as shown in the figure, and finally click “Confirm”.

4) After selecting the IP address above, click “Communication Test” to indicate successful connection with FX2NCCPU.

5) Then you can read, write and monitor PLC operations in the “Online” option.
